Aircraft Spray Painters work consists of :
- Stripping, sanding, joint sealing and spray painting the exterior of the aircraft and interior parts
- Design painting i.e preparation and application of technical details and airline logos
The training for a Spray Painter takes 1 year. The course consists of classroom tuition, practical work and on the job training.
The classroom tuition will consist of several modules covering :
- Spray painting techniques
- Chemical and paint familiarisation
- Corrosion treatment
- Aircraft familiarisation
- Graphics and documentation
Practical training covers care of tools, safety training and aeronautical standard practices. On the job training consists of periods spent with qualified Spray Painters in workshop and hangar areas.
